Max Cue - Emotional Awareness
Laura Jones plays Marius "lift me up"
Laura Jones rise to stardom under the Visionquest and Leftoom banners has made her one of the most sought after talents of this year. Her globe-trotting tour schedule and string of in-demand productions has captivated a house-loving crowd and a venerable family of artists from Ryan Crosson, Clive Henry to Matt Tolfrey, plus she tells us there’s still more to come this year. “Coming up, I have a Visionquest EP as well as a remix for Dusky on Alex Arnout's label Dogmatik ('Every Day from the Flo Jam EP').”
In her endless mission to bring the party to you whatever part of the globe you're dancing on - we stopped Laura in her tracks to tell us her most special moments of 2012 so far. We're green with envy as a South American Tour, Burning Man and Ibiza's DC10 all make an appearance (obviously) and no doubt that next year's list will go even bigger. It's an exciting day for us too because Laura has delivered a fresh new promo mix in a harmonious blend of house and techno taking us through to her Room One slot for Tyrant this Saturday next to the formidable Craig Richards, Lee Burridge and Sam Russo.

Aurex - String Theory - USA0942
aurex is a devoted electronic music artist from Belgium.
Always interested in the creation of electronic and organic sounds and ambiences, his love for synthesizers and drum computers only grew when the years passed.
Now running his own music studio, aurex can truly focus on his music which has influences of minimal, techno and electro.
His tracks contain dark melodic hooks and unusual sounds. Mixing electronic with acoustic and organic timbres brings an interesting and personal touch to them.
In 2010, aurex started making Ableton apps for midi controllers (Novation Launchpad, Akai APC and Livid's Code, OHM and Block). These apps are available for free on his website http://aurexmusic.com and are aimed towards remixing and live performance.
aurex performed at festivals and clubs such as "Forest Festival" (BE), "Eargasm" (BE), "Crammerock" (BE), "ExxL" (NL) and the "Bootleg" club in Rotterdam (NL).
After composing "one", his first album, many people where eagerly waiting for new tracks. Now, the new album - "String Theory" - is finished, waiting to be released.
"String theory" goes deeper into the music, with moody soundscapes and energetic beats. Ready for your mind, ready for the road.

Out now: Robert Swart - Tiefenrausch Ep - Morse
Back in the days ‘lola’ moved the Dresden underground. Robert Swart packed up his memories of illegal and therefore all the more sweaty clubnights and re-located to Barcelona. After feeding himself the best home cooking, sunday runs, Chicago house, drum lessons, German new wave, Morse radioshows, local jazz and Prince bootlegs, he was ready to unleash his debut ep, ‘Tiefenrausch’. A deep blue sea of submerged bleeps, sonar echoes, electric eels, handclaps and pearl clams.
Captain Flash - Ravers Ep - keatchen Records
After the 2 succesfull release in collab with Dim Mak records, Keatchen Records drops a new solid techno Ep. A raw acid old school rave vibe that once again will make the difference.
We have some great new set by Hugh Like, Creatures of the night and the new Morse artist Robert Swart!

Fundamental Harmonics - Transform And Unite
French sound producer and DJ now based in Bangkok, Baptiste got the electronic music virus when working as an advertising programmer for the renown Paris-based DJ station Radio FG in 1998.
-He first released the five-tracks “Onset Asynchrony EP” (CB21) under the name Ab Mauer, on parisian techno label Chronobrain (owned by Chris Carrier) in 1999.
-Later on, while studying sound producing, he experimented atmospheric and downtempo tunes blending electronica, techno and traditional music elements.
-Those electronica works were signed in an album in 2004 on the productive netlabel Believe, under the name Coral cove "Prism energy" LP with digital distribution on I-tunes, Amazon, Virginmega...
-During 2005, one demo is given to Laurent Garnier during a night at the Rex Club, and a few days later Laurent and Eric Morand signed the track “Northbridge” for the downtempo compilation “Megasoft office 2005” gathering several upcoming producers on F-Communications.
-Also into sound design for motion picture, Baptiste produced the audio for director Julien David’s works and was sound designer for sarcastic and trashy animated series “Les multiples” shown on french TV network Canal + during 2005.
Since in Bangkok, Baptiste has been teaching audio and sound design in universities, and still working for art house films, such as “Whispering ghost” directed by Taiki Sakpisit which won a Vichamatra award at the Thai short film festival 2009.

Lamont - Senses Overloaded - Morse
The new album of Lamont called Senses Overloaded.
Hip hop heads aren't what they used to be. They might still wear a baseball cap and walk a bit o-legged, but musically their scope is broader than ever.
Former Belgian DJ Champion Lamont was never one to limit himself to two turntables and a microphone. His latest project involves the newest technology in sound and imagery. It's an environment in which dexterity and musicality embrace one another in a fast and furious sequence of beats and effects. Sampling, improvisation, live guitars and projections all take place at the same time, with Lamont as the prime conductor.
To capture the soul of these remarkable performances Morse Records will release all this on a special dvd. With the visual assistance of Blub and the string picking of Carlos Dyckmans Lamont succeeds in creating a happening that goes beyond a music album or a concert video. It's both, and more.

Morse :: KlangModule - Konsonanz - M16
This will be the next 12" released on Morse . Metrobox teams up with Max Cue.. KlangModule with Konsonanz results in a beautifull detroit-esque track with visible roots of Belgian soil. The FCL (San Soda and Red D- WPH records) remix is the other living proof that Detroit used to exchange artists back in the 90's. It's back!
OUT ON MORSE RECORDS 'Anton Price 1998 - 2018' 'The Black Railway EP'
Anton Price is a jazz drummer turned electronic producer and back again. He has his own space-time continuum in which age-old African rhythms co-exist more or less peacefully with signals from the future. Where Kid Baltan plays chess with Tom Jenkinson, watching Logan's Run and drinking battery acid.
Comparisons are easily made, but never fully appreciate the scope of all parties involved. Certain tracks on the new Autechre album 'Oversteps' for example, sound like Anton Price compositions from ten years back. Meaning no disrespect, only emphasizing the curious position he holds: outside any genre or scene. Skam label manager and dj extraordinaire Rob Hall frequently injects his sets with one of Price's puzzling breakbeats, full on energy and melody.
Albums and ep's by Anton Price have become collector's pieces for people who fancy a bit of complexity between their climaxes, a short story between the beats.
In another incarnation he drums and sings like a modern day Chet Baker with his own Dago Sondervan Quintet - including key players in Belgian jazz such as Jon Birdsong (Beck) and Eric Morel (Think Of One).
For a theater tour he arranged his versions of Randy Newman's repertoire for a nine men band and forty strings.
As Bohr Bug he released brooding electro and techno work-outs.
Years ago he introduced jungle and rave in the Low Lands as DJ Dago.
The Lambda festival in Antwerp - which he curates - will see a performance of yet a new project, Drummers Without Drums.
All these bionic parts assemble into a shining compilation on Morse Records: 'Anton Price 1998 - 2018', a retrospective with a prospective twist. As a companion we release a limited vinyl edition: 'The Black Railway EP', boasting two brand new tracks and including a cd-r of the anthology.
About the tracks on the EP:
Steve Coleman and Five Elements. Analog drum computer. Straight James Brown rhythmics with an electro mind. Non-repetitive hi-hats create a peculiar flow. Melody in counterpoint. Recurring theme gives way to improvisation.
Two voices in unisono part ways only to come back and complement each other. The bass makes it all the more harmonically relevant, and alters the context. Sounds arise from FM synthesis. The era is completely mechanical. Cyber-Baroque.
Eyes Keep Rolling
Instrumental preview of a song that will surface later this year on a vocal album. Latin piano. Salsa electro. Live acoustic drumming. Detroit strings. Bell sounds. Herbie Hancock outro.
Short version of Decoherence. African live drums. Generated thumb piano melody and rhythm. Analog echoes. Man loves machine.
Fusion answer to dubstep. Polyrhythms. Jazz bass line with a meandering sub bass line. Dark and dissonant.
